Just took my 5 hour course here and John was an absolutely amazing instructor. He was informative and funny, gave loads of good driving advice, and helped people out with specific questions. He also had a remarkable understanding of local roads, so gave examples of different traffic patterns, road layouts, and signage that we see in our regular commutes.

I signed my son up to take this course, which has been approved for 16 year olds to take remotely on Zoom for the time being (due to the Covid times we are living in right now). I signed him up on Thursday for a Saturday class, and the whole process couldn’t have been easier!! Jessica promptly called me after we filled out the forms online to answer any questions and take payment for the class. We received an email with very detailed instructions, and my son got signed into the Zoom session like a breeze!! On top of that (and probably the best part) even though my son was completely dreading taking this course, he thoroughly enjoyed it and learned a ton!! Cheryl was his instructor and he said she was extremely interactive and engaged everyone, and she “really knew her stuff!!” (His exact words!). Thanks Right Way!! You made this “right of passage” an easy to navigate and enjoyable experience!!!

We teach drivers of all abilities. We do offer private driving lessons and our services to take students to their road tests. The road test itself is through the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles. The 5 Hour Pre-Licensing Course is a walk-in only class. Therefore, you need to arrive at least 30 minutes early to secure a seat. Each location has a maximum capacity and they sometimes fill up. For more information, please see our website at www.rightwaydrivingcenter.com. The website has all of the information needed regarding the courses. For driving lessons, you need to call our office at 518-459-2040 to make an appointment. Lessons are offered 7 days a week. If you live in the city of Albany, we can pick you up at home; if not, we can pick up from the Colonie Center Mall or our office at 12 Colvin Ave.
We hold the 5 Hour Pre-Licensing Course twice a week at our two separate locations. At our 12 Colvin Ave. location it is held every Tuesday from 4pm-9pm and every Saturday from 10:30am-3:30pm. The 5-Hour Pre-Licensing Course cost $50.00, no tax included.
At Colonie Center Mall, it is every Saturday from 10 am-3 pm and you need to arrive at least 30-45 min early, as there is a limited number of seats. At our 12 Colvin Ave. location, the class is every Saturday at 10:30 am-3: 30 pm and you would need to arrive at least 15-20 min early. For either class, you do not need an appointment. Just bring your PHOTO NYS Learner's Permit and $50, cash only.
A 45-minute driving lesson is $50.
The 5 Hour Pre-Licensing Course is $50, cash only.
A 45 minute lesson is $45 and using the car for the road test is $90. We require every student to have at least one lesson before they can use the car for the road test.
