In California if the blood donation is going towards transfusion to a patient, no money can be received by the donor. That said they have monthly giveaways of things like apparel, state Fair tickets, etc and you can earn points to redeem for things like gift cards and iPads
You don't receive any cash, but there's a point system in place. Once you build up enough points you can claim rewards.
