I had an appointment. I received 2 confirmation texts, including one 45 minutes before my 7:45am appointment. I arrived only to be told they didn't open until 9am. Seems like there are some system/communication issues that could use some work. It's frustrating to receive so many communications about how critical my donation is and asking me to confirm only to get there and not be able to donate.

1. The guy at the front desk was too busy talking to someone about protein powder and whatnot to even say hello. We stood there listening for 10 mins waiting to check in. He absolutely saw us and decided to finish his conversation first. 2. The nurse took forever to register me and he ended up getting my name wrong anyway. Which evidently cannot be fixed over the phone. You have to physically go in so that they can reverse your name so that it is in the correct order. 3. Never ended up getting a donation card 4. The nurse purposely stood in the way so I couldn't even talk to my husband, instead she had her glutes in my face while she chatted with him about restaurants. 5. The rude guy at the front ended up coming over after we donated and inserted himself in our conversation. He tried to tell me how nonprofits work... I have worked in nonprofits for over a decade in an executive director role. We will be back but I really hope there is significant improvement.

You do not receive monetary compensation for your donation. But they do award points
No, no payment. They do inform you when your blood has been sent to help a person in need.
They don't pay you cash. You get points and you can use the points to get things from their website. I do it for the free orange juice!!! Well and the fact that it saves lives.
In California if the blood donation is going towards transfusion to a patient, no money can be received by the donor. That said they have monthly giveaways of things like apparel, state Fair tickets, etc and you can earn points to redeem for things like gift cards and iPads
No you can not sell your blood. It is a donation.
This is volunteer, not paid. You can earn points, and redeem for items like gift cards. They are open 7 days a week including most holidays.
No this is a not for profit and blood that is going to be used for transfusion not for drug manufacturing can not be paid for in the US
Yes they accept walk ins but prefer that you make an appointment which you can do online. You can donate whole blood, plasma or platelets.
There is no cash or check. You earn points in their store. Great prizes
No mioney for blood. In addition to earning points, they periodically hand out free t-shirts on the day of the donation.
