I took my cat here after noticing he hadn’t been himself for the last day or so and being recommended by my vet to seek emergency care. I was distraught knowing my little buddy was in pain and possibly really sick. We’ve never had any health issues with our kitties before so I really didn’t know what to expect. From the moment I walked into VCA Mueller I was treated with such kindness and compassion. I want to thank everyone at VCA Mueller for treating us so well, a special thank you to Jessica the manager and the other supervisor for helping us sort things out. And a big thank you to Dr. Leo’s, Dr. Robert, Dr. Liang and all of the techs for taking such good care of Scout. He’s home and on the mend. Thank you to the entire staff for making this ordeal a little less scary and thank you for all you do for the animals in our community.

From the time I called to see if they had space for intake when I needed to bring my dog in to the moment they discharged her after a second visit and overnight stay, the entire staff made a horribly scary situation bearable with their gentle compassion and thorough care for my girl. On Wednesday morning, her primary vet was talking about the very real possibility of needing to let her go. It’s Thursday night and she’s sleeping peacefully beside me thanks in no small part to the treatment she received at Mueller. When it comes to choosing a specialty or emergency hospital, it’s important to keep a few things in mind as you read reviews: - ER and specialty hospitals are expensive everywhere. - Wait times are long everywhere. - The strain on hospitals right now is impacting staffing, patient capacity, etc. If an ER closes intake, it’s likely for the safety of patients and staff and to maintain quality of care by not overloading themselves. And capacity can change rapidly depending on existing patient’s needs and new patients checking in. They’re not doing it to be cruel. Would you want your pet at a facility that doesn’t have enough people on staff to ensure they get the care they need? - People bringing their animals here are very likely having the worst experience of their life. Emotions are understandably intense at those times. All this to say, thank you for saving my girl and being so kind along the way.

Don’t come here if you have a critical/emergent pet situation. We tried to bring our pet cat because he started acting feral/strange and attacked our dog and we called this vet to see if we could get him checked out/Put down if he was a danger to himself and others. The receptionist told my boyfriend to take our cat to them and that they would give him calming medicine and that it would be a two hour wait for him to be observed. My boyfriend drove there only to be told that they would not take him in and he had to call animal control. We told them that we tried that but animal control was closed and we needed to get our cat help so he didn’t hurt anyone else. They told me that they couldn’t help him and all of a sudden it would be an 8 to 9 hour wait. They wasted our time and had him make the drive for no reason only to turn us away. The woman on the phone said she didn’t know who he had spoken to, but the receptionist who told us to come said she put our name on the list of pets to check out. So either she was lying and didn’t want to deal with us or was simply too lazy to check the systems notes. Horrible business, horrible waste of time, and heartbreaking all around.

Ran in with my dog for an emergency visit. Thankfully we got in before they had to close due to too many patients. Vet tech ladies were very nice but still straight to the point so we can get help quickly which I appreciate. They explained the emergency deposit and that It can be applied to any medication or services he might have. Ok...understood. Waited about 3 hours and he still wasn't seen...ok we went home and got a call 2 hours later that nothing wrong could be seen but we could have tests run and they gave us a quote. 700$. Very pricey but still allowed us to opt out. The vet herself got on the phone and told us what they could do a bit more basic for him which seemed better for us financially...BUT...no one told me how much that treatment would actually be and it was an additional 300$ for what looks like fluids on top of my previous deposit. I understand maybe that part is above the vets pay grade but at least the tech/front desk should have explained that instead of making it seem like it was covered by that deposit. I found out when I went to pick him up thinking I was good to go to find another huge fee slapped on. I explained to the tech Hunter that no one explained that to me on the phone I would have at least been able to be prepared or could have asked for any other alternatives. Hunter clearly didn't care and felt more like I was getting an oh well its too late now. Probably because they clocked out to go home a few minutes later and I was just the last stepping stone for the night. I felt a little cheated to spend almost 600 tonight but no real answer for the problem with my pet. The girls I spoke to were very professional as well as the vet and my stars are solely for them. If the prices weren't way too high and I could be assured I'm much more informed about my treatment and costs I would try to become a usual client. UPDATE 2/1 Emailed to discuss the experience a week ago 1/25 and no response back despite owner inviting me to do so.
