Needed a quick appointment for my pit bulls eye. My regular vet was booked a month and a half out as well as two other local vet offices. I was suggested to try this place due to their kindness and professionalism. I have such reservations to go anywhere else due to the immediate judgment’s owning a pit bull. I got non of that here and they treated me and my girl very kindly, and got some meds and options. I’m glad did not wait and my girl was seen and cared for. More offices need to be as caring as this one. Glad I have a back up now where we can go get if we need anything else.

I find it sad that your own Vet is unable to get your new puppy in after having put down your dog and haven't been in for awhile (2 week wait) So I was amazed how quickly the seen our new puppy. They don't turn anyone down. It's good to know they care!! Great Doctors great staff!!

Well I called South Sacramento Pet Hospital after try to make an appointment withy regular Veterinary hospital. Lete just say that I appreciate all the hard work all the staff and Vets at all the Veterinary Hospital do to help our pets. In this case though, I was told that the earliest appt I could get was June 16. I had explained that cat was dragging it's legs behind and couldn't walk or stand. She told me to call Vista Vet Specialist because it was an emergency hospital. So I called them and was told after explains the situation that I could bring her in Although the wait time was 6 hours. I'm calling at 4 or 5 pm in the afternoon on Thursday and I watch mother. So I told the staff I have to go to work in the morning and I can't leave my mom by herself. To make this story short, I decide to keep the cat in an oversized carrier and fed her and provide water until I could find somewhere to get help for the cat. I found South side Vets on the internet and was happy it was not far from me. When I talked to her she said I could bring her in the next day as an emergency, and I would pay the emergency check up price but that everything else would be normal price. The receptionist to the Vets were wonderful and caring but I think the most important point was they explain since COVID, the Veterinary profession has shrunk and many people are leaving the field. I think people have to realize the local government has to address the need to figure out how owner's can't get their animals spayed without mortgaging their homes if they have one. The average cost for a spay is at least $500. And people wonder why there are so many kittens and puppies. Also common medication for them especially if you know what's wrong with the animal because of experience overtime with the symptoms is only through vet prescription. Many things are contributing to the Veterinary crisis and I can only see it getting worse. Thankfully South Side Vets Hospital was there in my time of need.
