I have a 13yo yellow lab mix with stage III liver disease. Has anyone else had this problem and took their pet to UC Davis?? Looking for another opinion. What were your results and cost? Thanks

You should give them a call, the amount of information you can get over the phone is limited but if you tell them you are looking for a second opinion, I'm sure they will help. Be prepared to send all of your dogs medical records by email, should not be a problem for your vet. If you are in the Bay Area, the drive is reasonable. Stage 3 is tough in terms of a better outcome but...ask about clinical trials. My dog has a heart condition which he beat the odds on, but now has a rare cancer - go figure. Anyway they are an excellent organization that I highly recommend. Also, should you need local boarding near Davis, I also highly recommend Dawn Gillette / All Species Animal Care in Woodland, which is close to Davis. Former Davis vet tech who takes care of a lot of animals needing regular treatment or rehab. Reasonably priced, my dog was with her for 8 weeks after CL surgery. Pet insurance will cover.

They have everything there to take care of your animal. They have helped me with all of my animals, family and livestock!

I swear by UCDavis. It costs what it costs. I don't know how far away you are from them so as stacey says: call. But go. Good luck so sorry about your beloved dog.
