This place is very popular on the weekend also there weren't many seats inside so you may need to wait for more than 30mins. The price of dishes for takeout or dine-in are same, so you can try takeout as well. The menu was different than a couple years ago, which has less choices. The Katsu don was delicious, but ramen was just okay. The staff is very friendly.

The staff was very friendly and helpful with menu suggestions. Felt like a family run business, which I liked! I didn't realize they weren't serving Yakitori when I visited, disappointed. So I got the pork donburi and Brussel sprouts appetizer. Both were good, but just not my cup of tea. Dont think I will be back. (so sorry) Very cute place, I liked the bar surrounded by upside down bottles, very clever!

This might be the most consistently excellent restaurants I've been to. I've been here ~10 times and sampled most of the menu and I've never been disappointed. Their katsu curry and donburi are unbeatable and a go-to when I order here. I would say their take-out is as good as the food you get when you dine in, which I think is rare among restaurants. Also notable is their service. Alan and the other employees are always friendly and welcoming and seem to go out of their way to improve the service here. If you can only visit one restaurant in Davis I would make it this one. I would give more stars if I could!!

Nice environment and booths in the bad. Foods are awesome and fresh, taste authentic to me. Gotta try and very different than other Japanese foods. Too bad special menu was not available on weekday, need to call before next time.

In regards to charcoal-grilled skewers, we are currently unable to provide that due to CoVID-related disruptions to the supply chain on both and international and domestic scale. In regards to deep-fried skewers (as in the buta-bara kushi-katsu that we sold over the weekend), that depends on how our meat supplier responds to recent updates in regards to California State's Prop 12 law that went into effect 2022: https://www.reuters.com/legal/litigation/us-pork-producer-resume-shipments-california-after-farm-animal-law-delayed-2022-02-08/
Our CoVID-19 safety practices change in accordance with the Greater Sacramento Region's & Yolo County's health directives. Although the Greater Sacramento region has recently exited the state-mandated "stay at home order," thus allowing Yolo County to be guided by its color-coded purple status, we are not yet providing outdoor on-premises dining at this time (2021-01-15 FRI). Our staff are continuing to maintain the following safety protocols: maintaining 6-ft distancing, limiting of the number of customers in the restaurant per health capacity guidelines, frequent hand-washing, wearing masks, checking forehead temperatures via IR thermometer, regular sanitation of commonly-used items and surfaces, providing hand sanitizer and the public posting of health and safety protocols. Once on-premises dining is provided, we will also sanitize dining surfaces and chairs between rounds of customers.
