Very frustrated with Golden one in general. I have banked with them for decades but I am ready to move to another bank because of all the inconvenience. Their tech issues with the new system is so inconvenient. At the beginning we were unable to deposit, withdraw or access our accounts for over a week . And today weeks later again unable to deposit with mobile or access online. To boot the Davis branch now has limited hours just til 5pm during the week so getting there to deposit in person is difficult too. You would think that since they are having so many tech problems they would at least make it easy to bank in person.

Golden1 working hours are from 10AM - 5 PM. If someone like Ms. Marther who does notary needs a long lunch break, the bank should close for lunch time rather than punish customers who have to wait for service a long time at the bank's "working hours" (We were the only customers at that time). Front desk girl went back to ask her 3 times before she came out. She even threatened us not to serve us when we complain about waiting for her too long. It's never happened in our more than 30 years experience with Golden 1. Since we have been like Golden1's service for more than 30 years. We decided change the one star to 4 stars. Hope Golden1 could keep their good tradition.

The banks intrinsic services are fine. The two star rating stems solely from the substandard app interface. More often than not, it generates a precautionary timeout during mobile check deposit. The login fails frequently forcing one to log onto the desktop version to verify passwords over and over. Moreover, frequent system downtime renders funds and account information inaccessible. It’s an inconvenience at most, but in a market where the relevance of brick and mortar institutions is under scrutiny by consumers, minor issues like this will affect customer retention. I’m moving on to a financial institution whose digital infrastructure is more up to date and customer-centric.

I have been a member of the Golden 1 for 24 years and have had a good experience in most cases. Glenda was the manager for a very long time and always welcomed me to the branch and was extremely helpful. I had not visited the Davis branch for a long while but recently have needed to make several trips there for various financial needs. I will admit that on most occasions I have had to wait in line for longer than appreciated and that can be frustrating. In the past, if the new account reps were not busy, they would offer help for deposit only customers and that was very convenient. The environment of this branch has changed significantly over the years and I will make as few visits to this branch as possible. I am hoping that management recognizes the need for more support staff and quicker more efficient counter service. One significant change is the new coin machine in this branch that allows you to submit coins but charges a fee for transferring cash to your account. The old system allowed customers of G1 with a balance of at least $500 to have this fee waved. Bank across the street counts coins and does not charge for this service if you are a banking Customer with no requirement of a balance in your account. G1 could offer the same, it worked in the past. Third party coin machines don't belong in banks/credit unions.
