I'm not sure? I was enjoying the scenery during the ride because I hadn't been on a train in a long time.
Although the Amtrak schedule calls the stop Petersburg, VA I think you will find that the Carolinian does in fact have a stop here, on train 79 southbound and 80 Northbound. The station is in Ettrick, near VSU and not in the city of Petersburg proper on the other side of the Appomattox River. I just took that train recently and it made a brief stop there.
