Has smoking ever been allowed inside the building, regardless of the current policy?

I would suggest a good days inn or a good motel 6. Preference. Thats been remodeled.

Smoking is not allowed and when I checked in, the room smelled fresh and clean

I stayed there recently and have been in several rooms. Tbey all smelled great!
