It's about 1/3 of the experience is outdoors. There's plenty to do inside, but the only live animals you'll get to see are in the aquarium on the main level and the terrarium downstairs.
You can spend the whole day inside. I was just there last week during the heavy rains and grandaughter was upset that we didn't get to see the animals in the zoo but she still had a great time.
Don't know I stayed in doors
I would say it takes about 45 mins to an hour to see the zoo area outside. It really depends on how long you take, pictures, etc. I would about 30% of the science museum is outside. Enjoy your trip!
It was pouring rain outside when my family went, and we spent a good 3 hours inside.
Zoo portion isn't extremely big, depending on how long you want to look at displays, you can see everything in 20-40 minutes. You still have the aquarium and museum inside and I personally feel like there is a lot to do in there. The museum has play structures and a lot of hands on activities.
Theres a small petting zoo outside. Theres also a small house that has birds, snakes etc each display had a window. Theres a fisplays with 2 giant turtles. Alligators, a red fox. Sorry i dont remember that much. The area outside is similar to the zoo where you have to walk to see the displays.
Most of the best parts are outside in my opinion...but the marine section is very nice and indoors.
