Below is a message to Harbor Freight regarding an in-store experience. This was sent to them as well, but I know low ratings do more than a privately sent correspondence. This past weekend, I had a discouraging moment at an HF location near me. Like many times, I went in with a particular need in mind but allowed myself the time to look around to see there was a "want" to accompany my "need." While doing so, I overheard an employee telling multiple customers to look for a 25% OFF coupon recently sent out in an email. I looked back through the plethora of emails I am inundated with from HF, only to find I received no such email. This coupon became a discussion between two cashiers. One stated it was a "test" coupon, sent to select customers. That made me wonder, "How am I good enough to be sent emails nearly every single day from HF, multiple times on occasion, but not good enough for a 25% coupon?" Then, as I think about it more, I have to think about how else do you all discriminate against customers? Before you go "selecting" customers for certain privileges, you should consider how customers weigh all factors before they "select" you. In summary, maybe you can find similar products elsewhere from entities that treat their customer equally. Update: As of 4/12/2022, there has been no response to my initial email or this review. Ironically, if you buy a product from them, you get a review request within days. One statement is all you need to review any of their products, " If you don't plan to try and make a living using it, it does alright." I am starting to realize their customer service can be reviewed accurately and concisely with a single imperative, non-existent.
