Yes, there are a number of old large redwoods, but not the same size (not as tall) or quantity of these trees as coastal redwoods like at Redwood National Park in northern California. It's still a pretty nice place to visit and has a hilly hike if you want to tackle that. FYI, the roads up there are super curvy.

They are ancient redwoods. The oldest tree is at least 1,200 years old! Most of the the ancient redwoods were cut down after the 1906 earthquake to rebuild San Francisco. A generous man, Mr. Kent, risked everything he owned to save this special grove of trees. It would have been named Kent Woods, but he was not only a generous man; he was also a humble man. He insisted that the woods not bear his name.
