I have an insurance policy with Metromile. If i purchase a new or used car (like on a weekend when metromile is closed), is that vehicle automatically insured until i can formally report and add it to my current policy the next business day?

I bought a new vehicle about a month ago. The car dealer ask me about proof of insurance, and They made a copy of it before I drove off. Later, I went online and I the new vehicle. One can add or delete vehicles online anytime and get proof of insurance right away.
