Depends on your pace. We were taking our time and making sure everyone got their necessary water breaks and to enjoy the views along the hike and it took us about an hour and a half, maybe a bit more to get to the top.
Mostly 2 hrs if u have young kids with u
From Poway Lake it took us about 2 hours to get there; good bit less to get back down. I saw a rating of "difficult". I think that is a reasonable discription. It's very doable, but there are some relatively steep sections. Lots of rocks to step on/over. We followed this guy's instructions: https://hikingguy-com.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/hikingguy.com/hiking-trails/hiking-san-diego/potato-chip-rock-hike-san-diego/amp/?amp_js_v=a2&_gsa=1&usqp=mq331AQEKAFwAQ%3D%3D#referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com&_tf=From%20%251%24s&share=https%3A%2F%2Fhikingguy.com%2Fhiking-trails%2Fhiking-san-diego%2Fpotato-chip-rock-hike-san-diego%2F
For us, it took about 2 hours. Also, it took the same amount of time coming back down the trail.
It takes one and half hours from the Ramona entry for one way. If possible try to go for sunset really awesome
It also depends on which way you come from. I went up the paved fire road from the East. It was 2 miles but pretty steep. The west trail is a lot longer but not as intense.
Thank you girls! And how hard is it?
My boyfriend, my German shepherd dog and I went there, it took us about 45 minutes and we made like 20 stops to drink water and catch up our breath,!👍😉
