Mt Woodson Trail is the one we took. It was almost 4 miles up and 4 miles down. I believe there's a shorter way, but that's if you go from Ramona. On the other side of the mountain. We came from lake Poway. We started at 1 pm and got back to our vehicle at 5 pm. Also, take a light backpack, with lots of water. There was 5 of us and I took about 12 bottles of water (16 oz) and 1 was left over. Go as early as possible so it won't be as hot. Take some granola bars or small snacks. U get hungry after so much walking. Hope this helped. Good luck!
If you hike from lake poway it's about 3 miles each way. It's the more enjoyable hike since you get to hike next to lake poway.
From the Ramona Cal Fire station (East trail head) is about 45min to 1h.
I would take the back way. It's much simpler. I believe it was 2 up 2 down that way.
