Hi I would like to go and give away clothes to people that really need them here without giving it to staff that might be greedy and pick through them. Is this possible?

Good Shepherd is a wonderful place to donate clothing! You can donate directly to the Development office, and volunteers will go through it and organize so that the women can go "shopping". Or you can also donate directly to Languille Residence (a crisis/bridge housing shelter) located on 267 N. Belmont Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90026. The staff and managers will sort the clothes and provide it to the ladies. It is SO helpful to donate directly to either of these two locations because the clothes go directly to the residents, for free, when they need to look nice for a job interview or something.

just tired to donate 3 large bags of fabulous clothes and I was shut down. These clothes aren't brand new but have only been worn once or twice. Such a shame that refused! beautiful dresses, kids clothes and brand new tennis shoes. I will try another women's shelter. These one was perfect, just a few blocks from me.

Absolutely.. But there's no way around that part.. Not unless you catch a few out by the red brick's but then they can't take them inside!.. Everything goes thru staff. You can donate to any goodwill or salvation army with out any worries. Good luck.
