It's slowly requiring more and more modernizations for a facility that's built on turnpike adjacent to a Russian Orthodox Church and parallel to a Starbucks on the intersection of Western and Fountain. The rooms are small, the bathrooms are only clean when the janitors are their. The residents are the friendliest, intelligent, and most eloquently spoken individuals of their time. They make everything accessible and easy for the staff that are usually relaxed at their posts. Permission is often required for every task requiring a staff member to menially assist with the duties such as unlocking a cabinet with hygiene products, clothing or bedding and are particularly self-conscious about themselves only.

Love the idea but get better staff. The front desk ladies were so rude and unhelpful when I came in to literally donate. Because of this i tried to cancel my monthly automatic payments in February (it is now September) and they have never responded to my emails and keep charging even after I’ve contacted them to stop. Not crying over spilt milk but it’s the principle that really bothers me. I hope this place gets better as it is a needed service but bad vibes all around. I’ve found I feel better about donating to more grateful charities.

Hi Latonia! Can you please provide an email we can reach out to? Thanks!
The age is 21 BUT I was 25 and looked 18 or younger and these sweet people still allowed me to sleep there upstairs I'll never forget it I waited in the waiting lobby a long time but they let me and I know a couple of people that told me they had to go there as preteens and teenagers ! Covenant house era for me was almost forgotten then I drove past it and said aha I forgot thank you God for reminding me that when I get blessed instead of casting my pearls before swine BLESS covenant house I can hardly wait to bless them ! They sit there peacefully graciously waiting for that blessing and they will be getting that blessing SOON ! I hope others know what good they do for us that were neglected or hated by our parents . If you can't trust your mother whom Can you trust ? Covenant house hears our cries they know what it must feel like not to have at least one good parent that's not wayward and they know how heartbreaking it is to see a homeless child or teenager the limit is 18 not 21
he is right at the cut off, which i think is 25, my son is there he is 24
Most likely not. But it's possible if it's an actual service dog.

We do - but our ability to accept is based on our current needs (which vary) and must be scheduled in advance with our Community Involvement Coordinator! Please call our office and ask to speak to the coordinator and they can discuss in detail! thank you for asking!
All funding donated to CHC goes directly to serving and supporting young people in our programs
Covenant House California does not identify itself with any specific faith group though we are supported by many different and diverse communities.
