I am currently a resident here at Good Shepherd have been here since September 10th. All of the services that the website says they provide is untrue. Alot of the women leave here unhoused. The case managers here make and cancel appointments with no explanation. There is currently no heating in the facility, the health department came out yesterday 11/30/21 and interviewed alot of the women here. The food is unfresh. I write this review because I feel as though I am being discriminated against because of my ethnicity, I'm also being told that I'm not a priority. I came here from sleeping in my car I am a cancer survivor with many other health issues.. I came here for shelter and hopes of getting help to change my life and I know that with all of the funding available I should receiving services.

I lived at Langulile House and got a job to move into the Farley House, but the social worker plotted against me. This all happened in 2010 so hope the criminals are gone. Other than that Good Shepherd with the nuns was best.

This place was horrible had a friend staying there and the food was expired. The tenants helpers were rude and she is still homeless. They promised her housing assistance... which she was accepted for and hasn't heard anything in 6 months. I am worried about my friends safety. She goes from place to place hoping to receive a miracle. Where is the love!

I was here about 2years ago and yes it is hard to get into IF you're trying to do it on your own. I had help from Homeless Health Care which is located down the streets from them but one of the managers from there made the call and explained my situation and in no time at all I got a call from them and i was in there for the next 3months I was safe and off the steets. But they will tell you not to try and bond and make friends which I found hard to do which also made it hard on me. The women story's they share are so heart felt and heart breaking you can't help but to form some type of bond with them but I'm finding out which doesn't last long so it would be best just to STAY FOCUS and do what's need to get you back on YOUR FEET and on YOUR OWN AGAIN!

Good Shepherd is a wonderful place to donate clothing! You can donate directly to the Development office, and volunteers will go through it and organize so that the women can go "shopping". Or you can also donate directly to Languille Residence (a crisis/bridge housing shelter) located on 267 N. Belmont Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90026. The staff and managers will sort the clothes and provide it to the ladies. It is SO helpful to donate directly to either of these two locations because the clothes go directly to the residents, for free, when they need to look nice for a job interview or something.
Good Shepherd Center accepts participants by referrals from various sources, but mostly homeless service agencies. Good Shepherd Center does not accept walk-in intakes at this time. If you are interested in Good Shepherd's daytime Drop-In center (which offers unsheltered women experiencing homelessness access to community resources and social service agencies, hot meals, access to the food pantry and clothing closet) please go to Languille Residence at 267 N. Belmont Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90026.
Nothing.. But on certain days you have to call and they will place you on a waiting list.. For me i was already in a program down the streets at HOMELESS HEALTH CARE. I spoke with my housing case worker her name is Monica and she's the one that called Good Shepard and got me in off the streets in no time. Good luck and stay safe God bless.
I guess they changed out the washer and dyer... When I was there 2015 you didn't have to pay to wash... I hope its not much to wash.
Yes! Volunteers are always needed at the center to help with the Development team!
Yes!
Just call and let them kno you have some items you would like to donate and the staff will let you kno when you can come or you can go and ring the door bell to let them kno you are donating to Good Shepard
Absolutely!!
You have to keep callin them on certain days and times.. It would help if you have a case worker or someone who can plead your case of being homeless. Good luck I hope you get in.
