I am Ecuadorian by birth, USA by naturalization. Going to Ecuador with my USA passport, wishing to stay as long and legally possible. At the time of entrance, do I need to have a return air ticket? Please respond ASAP Thanks

Upon entering Ecuador they will not ask you for the return ticket, but please check with the AIRLINE before traveling, as they have their own regulations.

You need to enter with your Valid Ecuadorian passport or cedula..the Airlines here in the USA WILL NOT allow you to board as a US citizen without a return ticket..so you can board as an Ecuadorian with Passport with a 1 way ticket..I know because this happened to me about 2 years ago..I purchased a 1 way ticket from LAX to GYE, I gave Avianca my US passport while checking in and they did not allow me to board unless I purchased my return ticket there on the spot. I told them I had Dual Citizenship and I presented my Ecuadorian passport and I was good, the only other issue I had was the name on my ticket..it was purchased with my married name, my Ecuadorian passport uses my maiden name and my mother's maiden name..but after about an hour waiting for them to change or approve it I was able to board as an Ecuadorian with a 1 way ticket..I hope this helps
