Not sure why they are turning away people if they don't an account with the consulate. This isn't helpful for the elderly or people who just don't go online. Wouldn't be surprised if this decision happen to lead to being targeted for hacking.

When my dad passed away this Feb, there was still quarantine in Korea and I had to contact to consulate 24/7 line to get exemption of quarantine, they answered the phone right away and they were so helpful and thoughtful. All documents were ready for me so fast too. I really appreciated. Thank you.

I am compelled to leave my review here, it is. it five stars it who are trashing it have no reason or have unrealistic expectations of public offices, have any of you been to USA social services? those are like n@zis compared to this consulate then, or even DMV, to dmv have improved but in term of waiting times and efficiency, Korean consulate beats them hands down. the Korean public servants jobs are very competitive and hard to get, so in general they are motivated and strive for Cust service, believe me I know about embassies from around the world , I have been to many and this Korean consulate employees at least they try to meet customers demands and needs. the only thing I don't like are the security , way beyond strict , like kgb but I have to remember this is a consulate not just another public building though. so except for security all good. btw, have you ever been to USA embassy abroad? you have to make appointment and then wait in line outside to then go inside to wait again to be attended by some guy who is like a robot without emotions behind a bulletproof glass talking to a speaker etc..it's like a fortress or what I imagine a prisons looks like and treat you

I'm not usually one to leave bad reviews, but I feel that the public deserves to know about the service at the embassy. This place is supposed to represent South Korea and be the face of the nation. The women who work at the front desk are horrible. They have no manners, they're rude, sarcastic, and completely unhelpful. They treated my parents, who are their elders, like garbage. Instead of trying their best to be helpful, they answered my parents' serious questions with sarcasm and brushed them away as if they were flies.

Even if both parents are American, the child is a Korean citizen if one of the child's biological father or mother is a Korean citizen at the time of birth.
In the case of renunciation of nationality, if a man performs military and social service in the Republic of Korea, he/she does not exercise foreign nationality or use a foreign passport to enter and leave the Republic of Korea within the territory of the Republic of Korea (South Korea + North Korea
You must first report your birth.
You can apply for a new passport or renew your passport, but if you want to renew or renew your passport for a Korean citizen who owns a foreign permanent residence and resides overseas, please contact the Korean Consulate General in Los Angeles. It is also possible to update it at home. If you apply for a new passport, it is the case that you are not a current passport holder. The documents required to renew the new application will require two photographs of the previous Korean passport, resident registration card (if you have one), a US permanent resident card, a driver's license issued by California or the US Department of Transportation, a passport size, and a passport fee. . Passport forms are available at the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Los Angeles.
Hold for 30 minutes.... Disconnected saying you would connect. Don't you know the meaning of connection? Or is the consulate's computer unplugged?
First of all, you must report your marriage and your birth registration before you can get your resident registration number.
You can do it all at the consulate..There are a lot of documents that you need to prepare in advance...If you search, you will find the documents you need.
18 years of age or older, a valid passport, residence identification documents, $ 50 for 24 pages and $ 53 for cash. Depending on the Consulate General, pre-fade return envelopes may be required.
The waiver of U.S. citizenship is under the jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and has nothing to do with the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Los Angeles. First, you have to give up your US citizenship and then go to the Korean Consulate General in Los Angeles to report your citizenship recovery. For more information, contact the Immigration Office at www.immigration.go.kr or the Korean Consulate General in Los Angeles.

Did you get an answer back?
You can find out when and where the touring consular officer visits your consulate in your state, and have your picture and expiration date passport ready.
PR Passport holders are Korean nationals, so there is no limit to the duration of your stay in Korea. However, if a foreigner who has been granted an overseas travel authorization for military service has been staying in Korea for more than 6 months, the permission may be canceled and military service may be imposed.
Citizenship I went to the power of attorney. Citizens say they can't I want you to bring things I don't know why citizens need a residence permit I went back today to go to the power of attorney, but I did it because I had a citizenship form. If you don't know why, why are you there? I've been struggling for a week I have a citizenship form. without knowing it
Philippine passport holders and individuals who intend to visit in Korea are required to secure a visa at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the Republic of the Philippines. Yes, citizens of the Philippines require a visa to visit South Korea. It is not possible to get a South Korea visa on arrival from the Philippines. Travelers must apply at the embassy in advance. Filipinos can usually stay in South Korea for 90 days with a South Korea tourist visa. Not my knowledge, this info I found online. Good luck.
I am 7 and 4 years old

You have to contact the State Vital statistics office in the State you were adopted from.

For exact details go to the consulate general office if you could not get the answer you need from online. But from what I know your sister needs to contact her local Public Health center to get confirmation if her studio would qualify for a place of quarantine.
It wasn't easy to find, but it comes out when you search. https://consul.mofa.go.kr/
http://overseas.mofa.go.kr/us-losangeles-ko/index.do You can also download the app.
For the second question, you must make an appointment. The easiest way is to use 영사민원24 app.
When I searched, I know that you need to inform the city office in the area where you are going to the arrival and departure date and time, and bring the documents that you tested for corona before leaving. When you arrive at the airport, you will be tested for corona with the documents. If you have a Korean residence where you can go and stay, you can do this. If not, you will arrive at the airport, undergo corona testing, and go to the designated accommodation to self-isolate. This is what I know. For more information, it is recommended that you contact the city hall or consulate in the area you are going to and ask for more information. Hope this helps^^
Please do it in advance when you have time It’s uncomfortable because it’s nothing, and more You'll waste a lot of time.
I can't find english application forms for renew passport. I think you should call and ask in English. Number is 213-385-9300.
Call and ask all process?? Is different with the other country. Pay all affort
18 years old is a problem related to the deprivation of nationality, and military service related problems, even if you are free to visit Korea before the age of 24, no military service problems will occur.
I think you should check this part. In the case of the nationality law of Korea, we are choosing secularism (if the parent's status was Korean nationality when the child was born regardless of the parent's status, the child is a Korean nationality under the Korean nationality law regardless of whether or not to report to the Republic of Korea.) Depending on the date of birth (revised nationality law), the grandchild may or may not be a Korean national. It is recommended that you speak with your local Consulate General.
I think you are taking a chance. If you want to make sure, it's better to go to the consulate and ask.
If you have not yet filed a nationality complaint to South Korea and you have not extended your military service at the age of 24, you should call the Military Manpower Office before you leave to ask for your son's status If you are not a slave, you must report your nationality quickly. We recommend that you contact the Consulate General of the Consulate General in Helsinki for further information.
I think you can prove that you have a tax record in the United States or a record that you attended at a children's school.
Certificate of family register The form has been changed to basic certificate, family relationship certificate or something like this. Please check the date and place to visit the touring consul in your state. When you go, you can get your basic and family relationship certificate. Be sure to bring your passport or a national ID card to prove your identity. It is not free, but it does not cost a few dollars.
Please report your birth.
Come in March and September.
You will need a valid passport, identification card such as a national ID card, a driver's license issued locally, passport photos and fees. Passport issuance documents are in the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Los Angeles.
Find your birth certificate. I'm out there.
You can bring your US passport or Naturalization Certificate instead of your birth certificate and show it at DMV when you apply for RealAid. You can bring a property tax bill or a utility bill as proof of your residence. I was issued in February.
nope i don't think so if you are staying more than 6 moths you need to.
I do not know. I think you'd better call the consulate to get in touch.
I know it is six months.
