The greater Boston food bank is a central warehouse; it serves agencies that distribute food to the public. It does not directly serve individuals. But no one needs to be hungry--- Your local city hall or church can help you get free and low cost food from the agencies that serve the public.
I also agree with Fred's answer. You might want to try calling the Project Bread Food Source Hotline at 1-800- 645-8333 (8-7 M-F, Sa 10-2). Help is out there. Good luck to you!
