Take the Green Line Trolley to Old Town. Then catch the #88 MTS bus which makes a circular route around Mission Valley's Hotel Circle. Many motel and a few hotel choices here and the #88 lets you out in front of quite a few that aren't super expensive.Ask the Depot agents at the tourist kiosks to help you.

Not sure. Maybe not directly. If you have a phone or computer and internet, you can search "public transportation to hotels san diego". Shuttles might take you. Depot agents might know. Green line will take you to Seaport Village. Hyatt and Mariott may be too expensive. Blue line takes you to South Bay. Orange line to El Cajon. Not sure of hotels though. Search it.

Yes just take the green line to old Town trolley. Then take the 28 to the 3rd stop on front of walgreens and get off there Cross the street and walk away from the walgreens toward the Chevron. Pass the Chevron and head towards the shopping center behind it. You will see the Travelodge by Wyndham right after you pass Jamba juice.
