You have to pay to go across the bridge, they send a bill to the vehicle's registered address.
No you don't pay initially anymore since the COVID pandemic . They have an automatic licence plate reader and it sends a bill to the address associated with that plate , as the other commenter replied.
No toll going north, only headed south into San Francisco.
You have to pay $8 to drive across. Or you can pay about $2 to park and then walk across or ride your bike. Assuming you have to drive there first.
Yes a toll.
Yes - No payment at toll booths, but your license is photographed and a bill is mailed to the address on your registration.
Toll is only southbound i.e. When you move into San Francisco
No
No it's not necessary to pay
I rode bike. Didn't park and ride
You need to pay for close parking but not to walk across
No you don't.
As lots of people answered you can visit the bridge without paying anything. Use maps and select route without toll and also check free parking spots like Vista point.
There are toll fees for driving across
Walking across is no fee but if drove across by taking 101 from North you have to pay toll fee $8 but in reverse if you take 101 across the bridge from South to north you don't have to.
1. Depends on which way you are driving. 2. I used my gps to avoid toll roads so no charge the 1st time. 2nd time I incurred the fee as my family wanted more photos from a different angle.
