Just visited this gem over the weekend. Had the whole place to ourselves, great little den positioned in the mountain so the never hits hard. Great for camping and staying warm! Plus tons of trails to different view points of SanFrancisco Bay!

This is a hike-in campground which has only 3 sites available with a first come, first served policy. One of them has a view of the Golden Gate Bridge. There are many beautiful views from the nearby trails. I walked the trail to Battery Rathbone Mclndoe from the campsite, it is the cliff with an ocean view. You can find many battery ruins in this area. Please note to bring your own water as there are no water facilities, also there are no fire pits, but there are BBQ grills, so you can make s'mores:) Campers are required to pick up the permit from the permit box set up by the Marin Headlands Visitor Center, although they had ran out when I was there.

So lucky to nab this place. Small campground with only three campsites, so would be perfect to rent all three sites for a group camping trip. No fires allowed, but there is a cooking grillThat you could have a small fire in. The view of San Francisco is only visible from campsite number 3,through a peek through the trees. It would be nice if the trees were trimmed back a little to get a better view, but I guess that they help keep the wind out of the campground. A lot of nice hiking trails nearby including the lovely point Bonita lighthouse.

Great location, very small walk to campsite from parking, but small. Grills are provided but fire pits would be nice.

Depends on what you mean by safe. Never had any problems with crime There are some big cliffs in the area I would absolutley recommend not having children near. Also some poisonous plants around. There is definatley cell service, its direct line of sight to the city
there are no showers. there is an outhouse and grills but that's about it. I suggest bringing your own tp.
$20 a night
Don't know. Will not be anymore expensive than anywhere else in Cali
No, only a single tent per site can be accommodated in this walk-in campground
No fire pits but I saw a bbq grill.
Tent camping and only on the designated tent spot, which is about 8'x8'.
Nope. No showers
I paid $20 per night in September.
