Hi, I have been fishing for about 3 years but have had little success when trying to set hook on strikes 40 + feet away. Do you set the hook differently or is the timing different? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Thank you so much. As a matter of fact, I need to schedule a float for Sept. So I will contact you when I have a date. Thanks

Hi Lenoard, it is very situational of course depending on whether are presenting flies on a slack line, or tight line. If you are on a slack line (most common for drifting flies) an fairly aggressive raise in the rod tip (identical to a casting motion) is the best. There is a bit of touch involved because you don't want the slack to "snap" tight. It should come tight fast but gracefully. If you get in our area, do a guided float if that sounds like fun and I'll bet one of our guide's could get you dialed in right away. Thanks for the interest and support.
