L.A. County parks close from dusk to dawn. Protects them from liability. If you visit outside these times, it's not their responsibility. Your risk. Trespassing .
It doesn't seem enforced, which is why people visit before and after park hours. You're able to walk up, but can't drive up until it opens though.
They are cracking down on this probably because someone that works there read the original post. Can anyone keep a secret anymore?
They close at 6pm. All buildings and bathrooms are close the same time. You need to park on the street. People still walk after hours. Its pretty safe, but its better not to walk alone. Its dark so you need to be careful so you dont get injure. Other than that nice place to hike.
This is a California state park, and California State Park Laws were established to protect the park resources, to administer the parks and to maintain a park atmosphere. Violations of park hours or other rules are misdemeanors which carry a maximum punishment of 90 days in jail and/or $1,000 fine.

Risky at night. No lights on dirt pathway or stairs.
Yes you can go after hours to most parts of the area
Yup. I assume this includes the parking lot, but I don't remember if they have a gate for the parking lot that they close at sunset. Does anyone know?
I think it's just a question of whether the restrooms and other park buildings are open or closed.
Yes
