A lot but they have cut throughs that you can use and they are not that steep and a bunch of trail connections
Not sure how many steps but I was told its a mile from the main entrance to the top.

It is definitely not a mile from the base to the top. The stairs are a couple hundred steps, at best, and walking the road is maybe a 1/3 of a mile
