A few weeks ago I had the same problem with my sister-in-law and I got angry with her because she had a little dog that had all kinds of sicknesses and she refused to put it to sleep and and it made me mad and angry because I thought well if she had a loved one the human loved one and if she seen it seen them suffering in a hospital with tubes and and a kinds of needles and suffering in that way wouldn't you ask God to take them right away cuz that's what I did with my grandma my grandma was 91 and she was in a lot of pain and I can see your supper anymore and I went to go see her for my last time because I couldn't bear to see her anymore and I asked God to please take her and the next day I called my aunt to see how my grandma was and she had passed in her sleep and it was the best thing for her and I knew it was for me so why would you let your animal who you left for all these years that you've enjoyed them you hug them played with them bathe them to care of them walk them did ever

I don't understand your question...... Why would you put your best, helpless friend to sleep.. He is depending one hundred percent on you....
I don't know when it in pain I feel that is when to do it.
