No they take walk in's just grab whatever you need and someone will help you! Best buy may be slightly less expensive for that ipad adapter
You really don't need an appointment unless you need to buy bigger products or meet the genius bar folks. You can just pick it from the self and someone will be there for you to finish the transaction.
