Yes it was allowed for us. It will be inspected though so be ready for that. Each of my kiddos had their own little backpacks with their beverage and snacks and food. I had my husband's and my own food in my backpack. So I guess it depends on the security person checking your stuff from what I read that someone was made to throw their stuff out. That's pretty sad.
