I have a 2 1/2 yr shih tzu who is in much discomfort itching & biting (for too long now). I’ve tried a few remedies including coconut oil, oatmeal baths, and lavender shampoos but to to avail. I can’t afford a Vet.any suggestions?

Care Credit is offered by many vets. It allows you to pay the visit off over many months with no interest. There can be many reasons for itching and biting - allergies, fleas, food reaction, etc. You need to find the cause so it can be treated and not masked.

Yes I do. I have small Pom with this issue and it has been heartbreaking for me. BUT I mostly have figured it out. First I found on Groupon a company that does allergy testing for, I forget, about $50 or $60 which is way cheaper than a vet. There are 3 columns in the results. Yes, no and occasionally. My rescue has very little in the YES column so I've had to get creative but... after 2 years of scratching... no itching!!!
