We'll be coming from Yakima. How rough is the road to the bivouac? We're trying to decide if our '14 Ford Explorer can make it, or if we should bring our Dakota.

We did it in an explorer a couple weeks ago with no issues.

Whoa now.... i literally just went there three weeks ago in a chevy cobalt. It's not paved but it's not to bad. A few washboards and pot holes but as long as you pay attention and don't floor it an explorer will be just fine

It has lots of washboard, but any 2WD is okay if you slow to 10 mph in places.
