Beautiful and fairly easy hike to the lake with little ones in tow. I'd say peaceful but that wasn't the case with people in the vicinity target shooting.

Amazing water fall. You should go to the upper area where the river starts, there is a fantastic waterfall. Really breathtaking.

Fantastic hike. Great for the family. Bathrooms are a little rough at this time. Bring toilet paper. If you're going past green lakes towards echo lake, you have to cross some logs and go around some fallen trees as of beginning of may.

Hiked from 1177 trailhead to Echo lake, it's about 9.5mi and you have the river running right next to the trail most of the way. The hike brings you past both of the greenwater lakes which are very beautiful and easy to get to. About 4mi in the trail becomes harder but it is under tree cover most of the way so it's a good hike for hotter days. Once at Echo lake the north side lake camp area is still undamaged but the south end was destroyed by the 2017 Norse peak fire. There is great fishing in the lake and it's designated as over populated with trout so bring your pole and plan for a nice fish dinner. If you make it up here be sure to hike through the burnt out forest on the south end of the lake, its a surreal experience.

Is there any car camping/dispersed camping spots near Greenwater or the Crystal Mtn turn off? I’m new to the area, thanks!

Yea, there are quite a few spots on the way up to this trail. The forest service roads along 410 have plenty of spots as well. Just keep an eye out.
