We managed to get a spot last week, but you have to get there early, like before 10am as it's first come first serve.
It was busy. It filled up by the evening and was full all weekend. It was a nice campground though.
Checkout is 11am so its best to get there before then and scope out. You can see which sights *might* be available by checking the boards by the bathroom. I say might because sometimes they're occupied but the person hasn't yet paid for the day if they plan to extend.
Friday does start to get busy, definitely get here early, by 11 if possible
