First time camping and this place made me love it. Private, but not too secluded. A built-in fire pit. Easy access to bathrooms and water. Bathrooms were way nicer than I expected. Lots of info on the boards and friendly campers willing to help and give advice. The only issue we experienced was the popularity. Get there early to get a site in the summer. They fill up fast.

The most beautiful, raw, private, natural looking campground I’ve ever been to. I can’t wait to go back.

This is my first visit to Heart O' The Hills, and it's great! I walked all of the loops. There are only a handful of "bad sites" (small and exposed) but even some of these have seen use this week. $20 per night, a great value. CASH is currently NOT accepted! You can pay via credit card or set up an account with pay.gov. Instructions provided at the check-in board. Arrived on a late Monday afternoon and had no problem finding a decent site in Loop E, tucked away in the back. More campers arrived later but the grounds never filled up. Saw the bathrooms being cleaned on Tuesday, and they are in good shape. There is a 2-mile "Heart O' the Forest" nature trail nearby that gets some day hiker activity. Olympic Otter

Lovely, lovely campground in a beautiful setting but if you're in an RV, forget it! Very short and steep asphalt parking pads. The sites were established a long while ago and are geared for tent campers and station wagons. Camper vans will have a hard time finding a level spot. Bathrooms were neat and clean. No showers. Having the senior discount made it worth the price but man! Was it ever aggravating to find a level spot for our truck camper!

yessir! saw a camper there the last time we were there!
Yes, there are free spots
They have food storage bins but nowhere to store personal belongings
Except for Fridays and Saturdays, always going to find a place. So Wednesday arrival is good, the closer to the morning checkout time of 11:00 a.m., the better also.
I saw people with dogs at the camp so that seems fine but they aren't permitted on any of the hiking trails.
We were there last week at 17:30 on Monday and all the loops had lots of empty space.
$20 per night. No weekly rate.
Loop A is open year round.
Not in this National Park.
No hook ups at sites. There are bathrooms with running cold water, flush toilets and one electrical outlet. Pretty standard for National Park.
I went on Saturday 6/26 at noon, they had 18 spots available. I think check out is 1. Good luck.
We camped at Heart O' the hills on 6/16. There Lots of open sites. I believe this campground is open year round.
Cost per night for SSD campers
What Kayla said, I was also there last week and it was pretty open until Friday, which is when it filled up. Not sure about holiday weekend though.
Just got back from 5 day trip I took my own because they are usually out of it when I've gone several times and glad I did because they were out again this time. So yes I would bring your own.
We managed to get a spot last week, but you have to get there early, like before 10am as it's first come first serve.
Should not be a problem that time of year. My guess is that the campground will be close to empty at noon, but still have spots at dusk.
Yes it's open year round, it's at about 1800 feet altitude , so monitor the weather to see if it's gotten snow.
Should be fine.
Great climate at this time of the year and it is Friday so i would get there early
No. But kids can do the have the junior ranger programs.
Yes, you should, if you have a reservation just go to your site.
If they have space, it's smaller but I parked my 38 ft Winnebago
Last weekend in June will be busy..check to see if any reservations are available, and I believe there is another campground just up the road. If you can early Sun-Mon I found open sites at two campgrounds in late July
Yes but quite hours are 10pm till 6 or 7am
Wonderful campground. Get there early, if you have to wait for a vacancy, there are beautiful hiking trails to occupy the time!
Yes. It can get quite crowded especially if the weather is really nice.
We arrived around 9:30 am on a Saturday morning and were able to find some spots but most of good spots were already gone.
