Call them.
Hi Christine. Thanks for your interest in adopting a cat. While we advise against the practice of declawing cats, there are occasions where we receive cats who've already been declawed. To learn more, give us a call at 253-383-2733 or visit us at our Center Street location during business hours. Thank you!
Declawing is an inhumane surgery and Tacoma Humane Society will not do anything to increase the number of declawings. They will give advice to adopters regarding the management of cat behavior and trimming nails. Nonetheless, occasionally they receive homeless cats without claws. When those cats are ready for adoption, they appear on the website listings (the.Humane.Society.org) Please research declawing before you contact any cat rescue. You will make a better impression on the adoption counselor and perhaps avoid a lecture. Thanks for adopting rather than buying from breeders. Pierce County has way too many homeless cats. Best wishes in your search for a companion.
