LATE ARRIVAL - Traffic was worse than expected and didn’t realize there was a gate code. Anyone know of a number to call or the gate code?

Too late now but I agree with Richard above. ANYTIME you are going to be later than you said, or closing time (It's on the website or Reserveamerica for most state parks and recreation.gov for federal ones) you are expected to call. There are some, not many, parks that when they close the gates they are not reopened at all so you really do yourself a favor by calling ahead.

If you know ahead of time that you're going to arrive late at the park it is best to call the ranger station and verify that you are going to be a guest they will usually give you the code and then you can check in the next morning
