Yes, except for the fishermen, pack out your trash. I wouldn't swim in that water lots of oil rigs out there, plus it Louisina water. When I was there I seen a guy get stabbed with a Stingray.
Great for self contained campers! There is porta potties and a cold water shower located at the entrance to the beach area! Bring your own wood for campfire! Also there is no lighting other than the moon and stars! Day visiting is superb and exactly what you're looking for for a relaxing swim, fishing, sandcastle building and or just laying on the beach! Please bring your trash bags so Rutherford can remain a paradise for us all!
Yes and a long beach to the left and right that allows you a more excluded environment.
