as long as lil pupper isn't running around menacing others it's fine, nobody will tell you anything. sheriffs there are way laid back u can talk to them. but honestly i only even see them out there like once every 3 times we go lol, it's not militantly patrolled at all. speed traps on hwy 82 sometimes tho, look out for those.
We had ours on leashes but honestly its not a really high population beach so Im pretty sure as long as the pup is in hollering distance. :)
You can let your dog off leash.
I go out there pretty often and let my dog run free but I keep the leash hanging on my shoulder. If a deputy makes his rounds I will put her on her leash. I stop and talk with other campers and never had one complain...HOWEVER, I have a yellow lab that is well trained. If you let a more intimidating dog run free it might be a little different. But there is so much open area out there it is easy to go where you are not around others.
