I did not go in the water. But others swam. I prefer to sit and watch the surf.
Went about a month ago and it was fine seen no warnings but there is a fresh water shower on the beach so you can rinse off salt and sand real nice
I say as with any place use YOUR best judgement

Definitely keep an eye on bacterial warnings as others have mentioned. You do have the outlet of a river nearby similar to Galveston and a large city upstream to contaminate it.v having said that i went in and enjoyed it thoroughly just a little while ago
I did not see any warning signs last weekend but i did at Holly beach.
That would be a matter of opinion. The sign says that there is high bacterial content....i did not go in but many locals were in it...
