To the best of my knowledge they are open and not sure about My. Scott itself
We recently went and there was NO ONE there except the two of us and the wildlife. There are no park rangers on site, all facilities are closed, but we were able to hike The Great Sand Dunes and experience the park.
Gloss mountains is a nice hike about an hour and a half from Yukon.
Sigh. Any other recommended hiking areas where I can drive out an hour or a hour and a half, park, and hike for a bit? I live in Yukon.
Odds are not in your favor, you may be able to access the trails, but the visitor center is probably closed. They recently said on the news that they released some funding to open for a few days, but it's for a scheduled Elk hunt. So in preparation for the Elk hunt some of the refuge is closed off to guests, so even if the refuge was open, some large areas would be inaccessible.
Not sure what the government shutdown but you will be able to go to Holy City and drive to the park and see the Buffalo and the mountains you may not be able to get to drive up to the top of Mount Scott because the government shutdown I'm not sure call ahead but this is late I was driving through New Mexico yesterday over Raton Pass into Colorado

Tried calling today and it said that they were closed all day. How do I contact them via phone?
