Lots of alligators to see, snakes, ducks and of course all kind of birds. Quiet, clean. You can stay in your car and drive the loop or get out and walk along deck by the water full of wildlife.

Bring bug spray, don't litter, and enjoy the fantastic natural environment while taking the well designed and accessible Auto Tour. It's free, fun, peaceful and very interesting. We saw many species birds, frogs, tadpoles, insects, and even alligators. Had a great time. If you like nature you should check it out!

I am so glad that I decided to visit this preserve. The park caretakers were ridiculously friendly and helpful. We didn't have much time to spend at the park but I think we got a lot out if it. The water was very low when we went and we could see so many baby alligators surrounding their mother because of the limited water cover. You can walk along an extensive wooden bridge system to view this area. The way it is set up basically covers all areas of the pond so you are basically sure to see something, especially when the water is low. This was a huge attraction for the kids. It felt as if we were very close to the nest and the mom kept popping up to watch us. It was quite amazing. This park also offers a digital audio tour to play via CD as you traverse the rest of the preserve by car. I thought it was fairly well designed and mapped out.

We came here and off loaded bicycles and rode the tour. Maybe 5 miles total. It was pretty nice. But we didn't venture off road to the alligator habitat out of fear of snakebites. At the office at the beginning there's cds to talk you through The tour if by car. The fresh water pond area was bone dry so there was no beautiful herons there. Great potential when it receives some rain. Up front there's bathrooms which were clean. Also was a wooden walkway out over a swampy area where we enjoyed watching numerous baby alligators, and a couple of birds looking for a bite to eat. Also an elevated deck with picnic tables and a telescope for viewing wildlife. Nice experience.
