Yes you can bike but there are no mountains so u can't mountain bike. However it's remote and peaceful. If u don't mind flat, steady biking it would be great.
And I don't think canoeing is allowed. I posted a whole bunch of pictures i think. Also its all starting to grow back green from catching on fire. But the peace, the quiet get awau from the everyday hustle, this place was A very good place to meet your thoughts head on and kiss them on the forehead on the way out! Absolutely a place to stop and just take in the Pocahontas breeze!!
The refuge has many options. Contact headquarters for accurate information. The place is beautiful and relaxing.
thanks to everyone for info
Yes in the lake you can. The park is supposed to be getting canoes and kayaks for rental but they have not came in yet. And yes there is mountain bike trails and also horse trails.
Its a very shallow lake. But you might be able to canoe.
I'd watch out for sudden bogs (mudholes) on bike and Lotsa bugs. U can canoe
The are trails you can bike on. Canoeing and kayaking are an option on the lake. The river off the spillway is normally swallow but after heavy rains it can have extremely strong currents, it would be best to call ahead on conditions
You can't enter most of the refuge in any way (foot, boat, bike, etc). The limited area that is open is only for crystal digging and it's a very small area. You could go to the state park side but keep in mind the lake is extremely shallow. I believe it averages a few feet deep.
Yes , in the state park!
