The visitor's center is pay-to-park and was closed during open hours, so I was pretty unimpressed with that. The salt plains are great; just be sure your vehicle can handle pitted dirt roads and you're equipped for merciless sun. The crystals are easy to dig, especially after a recent rain, and the salt plains are a really interesting landscape.

This place is really interesting, and beautiful in it's own way. I love being able to dig up the crystals. I'm not sure why it's only open during the hottest part of the year. I'm also not sure why the bathrooms didn't have sinks considering you get completely covered in salt and sand. Also if you have an open wound do not go here!! Overall really fun but really hot!!

Had a good time driving through seeing the wildlife. The cranes were beautiful! An owl flew in front of our car to get to a higher tree. Saw a cute turtle near the fishing area. The park is a great place to camp, so you can spend some time in the area. Bring plenty of mosquito repellent.

Awesome State Park/Lake and Federal Wildlife Refuge. I was shocked as I am not for North Central Oklahoma. A real must see.

Those little garden shovels, bring water to wash the sand away, brushes would work too but I didnt clean mine till I got home. A bucket to put them in.
I read they are updating the website, reservations will be included sometime in May.
Yes you can bike but there are no mountains so u can't mountain bike. However it's remote and peaceful. If u don't mind flat, steady biking it would be great.
Yes
Free, no gift shops. We also visited Alabaster cave, and Wynoka Little Sahara.
I do not know. It is a refuge for birds. I did see deer tracks. Try Googling for your answers. The office was closed due to Covid.
You can drive around on some of the salt plane but just know that every piece of exposed metal will be rusty after 24 hours. There's also a lot of backroads with public hunting land around the lake. I don't know that there is anywhere designated for offroading.

You should probably call the state park to ask
You can camp and fish.
Eagle viewing is usually in February
It is closer to Cherokee. If you have a smart phone Google dig area and it will take you right to the entrance
Yes and do not go to the great plains park because it will take you to the river. Just drive to the town of jet and ask for directions to the salt plains
