Id call them. Early check in usually depends on how busy they are and if someone used the site the night before. Also check for ticks while hiking. Found 2 on me.
No, but there is a fee, and lots of mosquitoes!
We didn't get in until late. There are normal state park fees but not sure about early check in. The mosquitoes are horrendous right now. We had spray and thermacell and we still got chewed up. We stayed on site 5 which was a nice site, until a giant banana spider moved in too. Lol

Yes there's a fee at Chico State Park with lots of mosquitoes and ticks the view is beautiful
