DO NOT get campsite #25 it is horrible right next to a dumpster, very small space, and we had to deal with a RACCOON the whole time! Hard to enjoy yourself when your constantly looking over your shoulder to see if the raccoon was there. We also used a tent and didn't get much sleep worrying about if the raccoon was going to try to get in our tent!

I adore Pine Lake . It's one of my favorite spots to be in the summer. So many activities, always catch fish. And just a great place to be.

We enjoyed our winter walk through the park. Well maintained trails especially for winter. There are 4 cabins that look like they'd be fun to stay in. They are a bit of a walk to the parking lot but so is the beech.

Who knew one of the top Iowa State Parks was in Hardin County? I was blown away by this place. Amazing trails with an impressive diversity of scenery. The lake is serene and the river views are a nice alternative setting. Definitely will be coming back here!

No there is no swimming today
We have been in the cabins with our German Shorthair, off peak season they are $300. Per week.
Somewhat. You had to cross the walking bridge to get to them I'm not sure there's a view of the river
Hi Richard, there are not rentals within the park. However, there are private businesses in the area that rent boats, kayaks, and offer other related services. Thank you!
Are you looking to stay in the campground or one of the cabins?
Bullhead, bass, bluegill not sure of any others
No, but if you go to Pine Ridge Park in Steamboat Rock, just up the road from Pine Lake, you can use jetski there on the Iowa River. It's also a better campground IMHO.
Not sure. Call DNR
Up to two dogs are allowed in Pine Creek, Goldfinch and Bittersweet cabins. Sandstone is currently pet-free for those with pet allergies. Please contact the park office at (641) 858-5832 with questions. Other state parks with cabins that are pet-friendly: Backbone, Dolliver, Green Valley, Honey Creek, Lacey-Keosauqua, Lake Darling, Lake of Three Fires, Lake Wapello, McIntosh Woods, Palisades-Kepler, Pleasant Creek, Prairie Rose, Stone, Union Grove and Waubonsie
Yes, there is a designated swimming area at the beach. You can look for any swimming advisories at iowadnr.gov/beach. Thanks!
Unfortunately, the bait shop/boat rental at upper pine lake has been closed for several years. There are private boat rentals and bait shops nearby in Steamboat Rock.
The cabins and campground are wonderful - and they'll be even better next year. The cabins will be closed from July 5 through October 31, 2019 for a renovation project. The campground and circle point picnic shelter will be closed beginning September 3, 2019 for upgrades to campground restrooms and showers. Please contact the park office at (641) 858-5832 with questions. Thanks!
Because the water has been toxic for the last few years. The geese took over the place. It's nasty and it smells there. The trees are still all torn up from the storm in 2009. It's not pretty.
Well, if you are too loud with your drunkenness, the law may haul you to their famous BNB
I camp at Pine lake about twice a year and the camp host has been there, true not 24/7. One time he even help me back in a tight spot. And the Park Rangers stop by and sit out side wirh him.
15.00 for full hook up
Yes. Electric trolling motors only
There are a few drinking water spikets to fill up tanks or water jugs and one full hook up site.
