The train is a narrated, 20-mile round trip between Hill City and Keystone in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota, with views of Black Elk Peak, mining encampments, forests, meadows and rock formations. We do have Old West Shootouts as special events on Thursday 6:45 pm departures from Hill City through the end of July and on September 6th. You choose your seats when you make your reservation and we suggest choosing seats on the opposite side for the return trip so that you see different scenery.

Keystone to Hills and back. Our ride took about 2.25hr.. very pretty, assigned seating was a bit to be desired. Was on same side of train both ways
