The tour is all in the cave. It was cool in there, all shaded. If you get cold easily, I recommend a light jacket. If you pan for gold, it's outside- but under the shade.
Outdoor/In a mine
Outside. We panned for gold out on the back porch in a large tub like vessel. We had kids age 5-12 they had fun. Although the gold panning was hard for the younger kids they enjoyed it. They had mining for stones which they recommended for the younger ones.
There is a gift shop indoors. We did the mine tour, and it was really fun. The rest is outdoors when you pan for gold. We had ages 6 to 60 and we all had a great time!
