I would like to know which kind of documents I need to drive across California, Utah and Arizona. is it enough italian driving license or do I need an international driving license (IDP)? Best regards.

In my case, a Mexico driver license did it. No international license required. I only drove through California though.

It depends from state to state. California you have no problems. For Arizona you need an international driving license, I was there last year and I had to do it. Utah I don't know, check on the internet everything is written, maybe even updated
